Hey everyone! I'm Moonlit Page Turner, an avid reader for 30 years. When I don't have my nose buried in a book, I can be found vibing to a variety of different music styles while singing at the top of my lungs (I can hit some decent power notes) or covered in miscellaneous craft stuff (seriously, I have two of the plastic multi-drawer towers and they are stuffed to the brims with various types of craft materials, supplies, and tools). I'm also a mom to two amazing individuals who are my world and happen to be just as weird as I am (I full heartedly admit to being a very unique individual). You may be asking yourself "with all the time you spend doing fun stuff, when do you work?" Well, the fact of it is, is that I am disabled and just recently decided that I needed to step back from the normal 9 to 5 grind since it is extremely difficult to hold a job where you are expected to be available during a shift when you have multiple doctor appointments and the ER is like a second home. That said, I am far too young to go on Social Security and disability is a multi-year process to be approved for, so I decided to grace the web with my thoughts on books. A lot of bookworms say " I wish I could find a job where I can just read all day". Now, I can say that I have one! I hope you enjoy my spoiler-free perspective of my favorite books, the books I FINALLY clean up from my TBR, & suggested reads that y'all leave me (I'll put up an actual post on how I will go about choosing which suggested books I decide to read).
This blog is going to be full of spoiler-free book & fanfiction reviews (but if you want a spoiler version, I encourage you to check out my Patreon where there are in-depth reviews, access to a member's only chat through discord where we can talk all things book, and even possibly audio clips of me reading my favorite spicy scenes😉), book related info such as important, you NEED to know events (especially if they're free events or have free books), and book or reading related merchandise that I will link to. I want to be completely upfront and honest so, YES, I can make a commission if you purchase something from one of the links you'll see throughout this blog. If you chose to buy something through one of my links, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
A little about the title of this blog: When I first started reading, I devoured books literally every minute I wasn't in school or having to do chores at home. After my parents sent me to bed, I would hide under the sheets using a flashlight to read. When my mom went to bed, she would stop by my room to make sure I was sleeping and when she'd find me reading instead of sleeping, she'd take away the flashlight and tell me to go to sleep. I am and have always been one of those readers who has a hard time putting the book down once I start it so after the flashlight was confiscated, I would turn myself so that my book was able to be seen by either the streetlight at the end of our driveway or the moonlight that was streaming through my window and would read until about 3-4 A.M.; I'd fall asleep for an hour or two, then get up and do it all over again. As you can probably imagine, I now have a horrible time sleeping and am a night owl. I like to say "I have insomnia; it started with a good book and a lack of respect for the next day". This memory from my childhood is the inspiration for the title of this blog.
I hope you enjoy your stay, feel comfortable enough to interact with me, and just maybe join me on Patreon. Read a good book, stay safe, and stay blessed!
